Neki od igrača su bili meta huligana, a obezbeđenje nije uspelo da spreči i kontakt navijača sa fudbalerima u nekim trenucima. Meč je posle duge pauze trebalo da bude nastavljen, ali pošto na terenu nije bilo fudbalera Marseja, sudija je prekinio duel i očekuje se da će on biti registrovan službenim rezultatom 3:0 za Nicu.

Čitav incident je počeo kada su navijači Nice gađali flašom Dimitrija Pajea dok je izvodio korner, a on im je uzvratio i bacio flašu u njihovom smeru. Tada je došlo do incidenata, koji se dugo nisu smirivali. Igrači su potom otišli u svlačionice dok su organi reda pokušavali da uspostave kontrolu.

U čitavom metežu učestvovao je i Horhe Sampaoli – Argentinac je bio na ivici fizičkog obračuna sa defanzivcem Nice Žan Klerom Todiboom.

Na kraju je doneta odluka da se meč nastavi, a fudbaleri Olimpika nisu želeli da se vraćaju sa teren. Igrači Nice bili su na igralištu, pa je sudija morao da prekine duel. Budući da fudbaleri godstiju nisu bili na terenu u vreme u koje je od njih to zatražio organizator, očekije se da će duel biti registrovan službenim rezultatom 3:0 za domaćina.
